Not Likely, From what I get from this the adapter is capable of 10/100 auto sensing but the phone lines will not support 100mbps transmitions. That is from what I understand.

Notice how they call it a 10Mbps Homelink phone connection?? Look under the FEATURES - it says: ******** 1 Mbps phone transfer rate over telephone lines **************

The 10/100 USB network adapter they package it with simply means that if you want to use this device to connect to 100 Mbps LAN for fast file transfer you can but the phone connection will still be under 10Mbps ( more like 1 Mpbs with the Linksys product , Diamond Homefree is quicker ... )

So i agree the packaging of the 1Mbps homelink phone device with a 10/100 USB autosensing network adapter is confusing to the customer and leads one to believe that the phone is capable of 100Mbps network transmission speeds ( currently not higher than max. 12 Mbps over copper phone line till a better protocol comes along....)

phone lines are way too noisy to handle high speed 1Mb+ speeds...any company that says otherwise so far is off their rockers... http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif

From what I have seen, you'll get about 1-2Mbps over a standard phone line. Phone cable is typically UTP (unshielded twisted pair) and 10BaseT cable is STP (shielded). If your lucky to have a new house with upgraded phone cable then you'll be good.

It's always possible to just run 10BaseT as your phone cable - just don't use a phone on it. You don't want to subject your network to 90V when the phone rings.. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif
