Cant you just connect them directly with one cable attached to each card? yep, you can. you just need a rj45 crossover cable and a little patience. a regular ethernet cable will not work. there are multiple sites to look to for help. my knowledge is pretty limited, but i was able to do it. i had some trouble until i bought two identical cards. then it ran like a champ. ------------------ "i told her i wanted to show her my palm pilot and she slapped me." Slinks 10-14-2000, 07:31 PM yea all u need is a crossover cable and two nic's. i have d-link 530+ nic cards work great and i think i got them for about 15$ from circuit city. any way u will want to install the two nic cards then go to controle panel and then network. look for the tcp/ip that is bound to the nic card and go in to its properties. asign them an ip address like 197.0.0.1 and 197.0.0.2 and in the subnet mask area 255.255.255.0. the comp will asked to be restarted and it should work perfect with any luck. tmjf_sifu 10-16-2000, 01:23 AM try www.homepclan.com (http://www.homepclan.com) if you really need some help. setting up a pc-to-pc network is just about completely covered there. they were even able to help my dumb ***. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/wink.gif ------------------ "i told her i wanted to show her my palm pilot and she slapped me."
