Recently, I've been looking around for a Webcam. Specifically, one of them that can detatch and become a Digital Camera of sorts (Think: Creative Webcam Go Plus). Anyone know some good ones?

Jr916 08-08-2001, 08:31 PM do you want one that detaces and still is on a wire or is totally portable afterwards? ------------------ "You don't cuddle with "Max Power, you strap yourself in and feel the G's" Homer Simpson Pinky 08-08-2001, 08:42 PM Originally posted by Jr916: do you want one that detaces and still is on a wire or is totally portable afterwards? Detach = unplug cable from camera. I have the Creative Webcam Go. It works best as a webcam, and ok for stills if you just need something quick and aren't looking for spectacular quality. It uses a CMOS sensor as opposed to better CCD, and max res 640x480. Like I said, it's a much better webcam than it is a still digital camera. ------------------ Embrace this moment. I'm not *necissarily* looking for one that does real good stills (although it would be nice), and more for a webcam. Trav2003 08-11-2001, 11:56 AM Intel has one, but I can't remember what other companies do... (I think Intel's is 640x480 as a regular camera) ------------------ Athlon 1GHz geForce Pro 32MB 256MB pc1600 DDR RAM SB Live x-gamer 5.1 20Gig ATA 100 7,200 RPM 4x DVD 8x4x24 CD-RW IWill KA-266 MOBO way2funni 08-11-2001, 12:33 PM Originally posted by Ashpool: Recently, I've been looking around for a Webcam. Good pic and a built in mic. It detaches and takes pics and up to minutes video with sound. Good features and it's down to about $100. BaCardi 08-11-2001, 05:03 PM DLink has one too. I think it's more of a digital camera though and you can use it for webcamming. WCHL9 08-13-2001, 01:17 PM Hi I heard something about a cam called the IBOT. I read that it did like 35 frames a sec, so it looked smooth when you moved around in front of it. Also had high resolution for a web cam. Oh yeah its firewire connection, so that may be a problem ------------------ "She already seems beautiful when you meet her, but believe me once you find out who she is, you will believe she is the most beautiful woman!" It's Firewire and is more or less much more than just simple Webcamming. More for Web Conferencing http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/biggrin.gif SharkyExtreme.com
