when you go there, turn off your lights, turn up your speakers and experience the true power of flash.

He lists some websites after the little intro. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif

You can find great tutorials at the following:

Flashkit: http://www.flashkit.com
FlashPlanet: http://www.flashplanet.com
Extremeflash: http://www.extremeflash.com

Flashkit also hosts a popular set of forums filled with flash developers. And yes... we own all of three those sites http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/tongue.gif.

Since when was Flash considered "programming?"

Flash doesn't really have a language. But I can see how it is considered programing. It's somewhere along the lines of Visual Basic.
I've made a flash program of a calculator, it took some programming skills. Many people just use it graphically but it has many more functions.

oracle is so robust you can call it a language. I guess it depends on what your criteria is for dubbing something a language.

Nah, I asked one Oracle guy and he was like no, its a DB engine, not a language. I guess it really depends on the person though, cuz I have seen HTML called aprogramming language, when to me, its a markup language. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif

FWIW Flash uses a scripting language. With the introduction of Flash 5, they changed the syntax from a simple menu driven system to JavaScript Syntax. I've been using Flash since it was called "Cell Animator" back in 1994, and it's allways had the principles of programing. Flash 3 with the "Tell Target" command created the ability to do if/then loops, and simple variables. Flash 4 brought out the power of action scripting which is primarily menu driven, but allows for very complex actions and effects. FWIW I know DOM/DHTML/JavaScript, and what would take me a day and a half to script out in that format takes only about 5 min in Flash. To Answer the question though, as of Flash 5,it uses JavaScript.

Ah I took a look at it myself, and I have Flash 5. Indeed that's some scripting, but that's preceisely what I was telling myself...."Wait a minute....this is nothing more than JavaScript!" heh, thanks for the History of Flash, I like to see a well laid out answer like that.
