I'm interested in learning PHP, but, god knows I cant find a site that doesnt already assume your a PHP COM XML etc. guru. Anyone know a good n00b site for PHP?

I've never seen one http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif Buy a book, and get some webspace that supports PHP, or install a PHP backed webserver on your local machine, and go to town. That's the best way.
www.devshed.com (http://www.devshed.com) is a great PHP site, but I wouldn't exactly say it's for newbies.

There are some good websites for PHP. The main site at www.php.net (http://www.php.net) has the manual online, and the annotated version has comments and tips from other users.

devshed has some good articles but, as you say, isn't necessarily tailored to beginners.
http://www.phpbuilder.com/ is probably my favorite PHP site...lots of stuff there!

Also, a good book is indespensible. I've been pretty happy with the Wrox book Professional PHP Programming.

GO PHP! :-)

I got the "Beginners" WROX book, very nice book for people just getting into PHP like myself. I personally find it alot easier to reference stuff in book form, than webform. I just like reading from real paper I guess http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
