MONTREAL (AP) - A teen-age computer hacker accused of crippling several major Internet sites including CNN, Yahoo and Amazon.com (news - web sites), pleaded guilty on Thursday to 56 charges of mischief.

Ummm, what is the legal definition of mischief ? I can think of all kinds of mischief done over the years, depending on the definition.

Criminal mischief is a mischievous act that causes damages to others, yet doesn't easily fall into another category. By crippling those sites, he cause a loss of revenue, which is considered damages.
