I've noticed that this forum has some rather interesting ads. Where usually see hidden cameras and weight loss pills, I see ads for $300 reports of the effectiveness of internet advertizing and for $600/day nanotechnology conferences. How many of you are professional network admins, programmers etc?

Well I run my own webdesign business, if that's professional. As for the ads....I can't see any!

Look over there ---------------------->
I'm a pro (engineer, tech support, software development, sales support, etc.), but I've never once clicked on a single internet add. I just filter that stuff right out of my field of vision.

Me too normaslly, but I love psychology and the idea of nanotechnology so those ads really stuck out, since they're far from the typical fare.

They are pretty standard ads for any kind of technical website, even if it is mostly news and games.
Personally, I am a programmer/consultant/software engineer or whatever you want to call it.

Hey kid A, did you mean that you missed the ad on the side of the screen, or that you have some software to kill any banner ads?

I use Norton Internet Security, so I guess that would be alternative B http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/wink.gif
I got it from my ISP along with Norton Antivirus, so I figured I'd try it. The ad-blocking works pretty well. The only ones that show up are the ones that don't use standard sizes/formats. As an example I can only see the three banners at the bottom of the forums ("check out these other great forums etc....")
