Hi there!
I'm just wondering what you think is the best HTML editor out there. Can you recommend any good WYSIWYG editors?

Thanks in advance,
Blizzard.

I think the best WYSIWYG would have to be dreamweaver. The worst in my opinion is front page.

However, the best editor overall I believe is ColdFusion Studio or Homesite. The only way to really get your page exactly how you want it is to get in their and write the code yourself.

So Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG editor with Homesite 5 included, am I right? Coding isn't really an option cause I hate it...too technical for this shark http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

No, dreamweaver does not include homesite, they are seperate products. You would have to get Coldfusion / dreamweaver studio to get a package deal like that.

FYI, dreamweaver is a little different. I suggest you get the demo of it first before you buy it to make sure its your bag. Its very powerful, but can be difficult to use at first.

The best way to do it is to use learn HTML and THEN get a WYSIWYG editor. Both frontpage and dreamweaver are good editors, however, I know frontpage adds crap to your html that is not needed.

You can make some very fancy website designs in Fireworks too, but they generate a lot of code and are slow to download. Use Dreamweaver, I'm sure you'll like it. Get a demo/trial, they're on the macromedia site.

Hva med Demon Box? Nesten like bra som Blizzard http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/wink.gif

I started with learning HTML and using notepad, then i found a tool called DiDa which you can find here (http://netvigator.com/~godfreyk/dida/). I made quite a few of my pages using that so i could learn some of the harder aspects of HTML (like tables). I played with Dreamweaver, but i'm no good with it. I can download a template and do some powerful stuff, but it's too much for me to learn in the little time i have (If you have time i imagine it's the best thing out there). Frontpage i've used to do my work experience webpage, it's easy to use but i found that i could do the majority of the things in the free DiDa tool. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks for your replies!
I actually downloaded Dreamweaver, the trial version, and tried to make a simple webpage and it was actually quite easy to use. But I decided to delete it anyway...I don't know why, but maybe cause I'm not a fan of trial versions http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/wink.gif

I think I'll lay my homepage plans on the shelf for a while and maybe start working on it again at a later time.

Thanks again sharks http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/wink.gif

Forresten, hva er Demon Box, Kid A? http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/confused.gif

Okay, so that's really another language then? I was looking at it and trying to decipher what dialect of Pig Latin they were using....

And you'll never know if it was OT or not, unless you learn the language! http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/tongue.gif

just as a fyi - dreamweaver did come bundled with homesite - DW3 and also DW4 had homesite on the cd (amongst other things) but then macromedia bought allaire and i guess things got changed around - if you can find a copy of DW4 then you can have a look at both - DW is probably better of the two for the non coder i would say.
