Deus Ex -- Gen'l protection fault, textures ?!

Please help.

Deus Ex mouse and keyboard have suddenly gone non-responsive in the Majestic12 map. (Sound and NPCs continue to move around, but I am essentially frozen. Mouse/keyboard are dead so I can't hit ESC, inventory, or nothing.) When I kill the game with Ctrl-Alt-Del, the Gen Prot Fault window gives me a message like "UTexture, FireTexture, blah blah blah." All other maps up to this one were A-OK.

My vid card is TNT2 (Diamond V770U) and I've got the D3D beta patch installed. My detonator drivers are I think the 6.50 version. Other info: Win98SE, P3-733, Tyan S1854, SBLive X-Gamer, 256MB PC-133 Crucial, AGP aperture set at 64MB in BIOS.

BTW...Also, I just checked my IRQs for conflicts. IRQ #11 shares TNT2 Ultra (video) and SoundBlaster Live. I'm not an expert but shouldn't this be changed? If so, should I do this in the System Info window? I have IRQs #5 and #9 free. Is there a preferred assignment of all IRQs? (By the way, if my BIOS is set to automatically assign IRQs, and it is assigning them with this conflict, do I also want to disable Auto-assigned IRQs in the BIOS?)
