win 98se ie problem

A friend has an old computer with 98se and he lives in the country and can't get dsl or cable internet, has dialup. I use ie on my computer so when I go to his house and use the internet I always minimize his isp and use ie. I was just over there and when I pulled up ie it just put the bar across the top that says Microsoft Internet Explorer and nothing else. I tried going into add/remove programs and did a repair. I also went into Microsofts web sight and downloaded the latest version but it still did the same thing. Does anyone know what else I could try?

possible the window is sized for title bar only? try maximizing window - or drag the chevrons, grab a corner with the mouse.

start > run Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
delete "Window_Placement"
