Windows Media Player error

Hey guys,

Quick question concerning WMP. I have downloaded video files in .avi format for Windows Media Player, and up until today they have worked perfectly. Now, all of a sudden when I open them (or try to) I'm met with a little window saying:

Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

It doesn't tell me anything about why or how to fix it, it just asks me to send in an error report.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I would say, go to Microsoft's web site and dl a new version. That should fix it.

This doesn't directly respond to your problem...but, the best way, in my opinion, to fix a problem with WMP is to go here and download this alternative. Mega or Lite if you prefer.
