one-post review: Ergotron Neo-Flex LCD Stand
When I complained about the crappy stand on my Sceptre x22 LCD, XJ helpfully suggested I buy a replacement stand, suggesting the Ergotron Neo-Flex LCD Stand. I went ahead and bought it from amazon for about $42 with free super saver shipping.
You can find a product link here, where it's specced for 20" LCD or smaller, which gave me pause - but I figured for less than $50 there wasn't much to lose if my monitor turned out to be a wee-bit too wide.
The original stand:

was not height-adjustable, didn't rotate, and had only about 10 degrees of flex (and only backward, not forward).

The base is a large ring of steel with a plastic facade, which was much better than the molded plastic I expected:
