I have the ASUS transformer tablet with the Android OS. Is there a way to make it a windows based tablet?
no
lol thats quite the response ;)
what he means is, android is linux based and runs on arm processors. Right now windows has no arm support until windows 8 is released on tablets and phones. even then, i highly doubt microsoft will allow a way to put their os on an android tablet or phone. more likely, someone will find a way to put android on a windows 8 tablet and dual boot. time will tell
edit: your tablet should have come with splashtop which allows you to remote desktop. its a pretty sweet app as long as you have a really good connection.
first you need to make sure you are signed into your google account. there is an option for remote connecting.
second, most schools wont let you connect via remote desktop (or ftp for that matter). thats one of the reasons I got splashtop was to be able to remote into my desktop from school but they block it. so check with your school and see what the network allows.
Yea my university said they blocked that feature. I can connect to my server via ftp but they blocked the splashtop...
Also my buddy who is a PM for M$ emailed me yesterday and said M$ is not planning to release Win 8 for retail for install. Dumb if you ask me. that's one more market they are not going to make $ in.
well it will surely leak, unless they make a dedicated install image for each hardware configuration without drivers for anything else.
My work blocked Splashtop but if you manually entered in the IP it would work. I just had to setup port forwarding on my home router. When you do that you don't need to enter your google account, might be worth a shot.
