...and its awesome. Now I just need to find a good place to buy a case, screen protectors, extra batteries etc. Also, if anybody can recommend a good high speed SD card that would be cool. It came with a 1 gig transcend card. (got the bundle from newegg)
I'm having a hard time taking clear shots inside. It's a little grainy in low light. Is there a way to fix this or a setting that helps out?
I just bought 2 generic brand batteries on ebay for $10. The canon batteries are $39.99 each. Should I be worried about these batteries destroying my new camera somehow?
With all these crazy battery heating stories it's not something I personally would do.

use the flash (or otherwise get more light) or get a tripod. otherwise the photos are either going to be blurry from long shutter speeds, or grainy/fuzzy from high ISO speeds.Quote:

Lowering the ISO speed will make pictures less grainy, but not as bright. You can compensate by increasing the shutter speed and/or lowering the f/stop if that camera has the capability. My old Canon Powershot A40 has it in a limited fashion, so maybe yours does too.
Lowering the f/stop makes the aperture open more, so more light is allowed in. It also increases the depth of field.
