bad raptor?
I have two 150gb raptors Ive used in Raid 0 for over a year now. Recently one began showing errors during ICH9R boot scan (array was still in tact and bootable, but intel matrix manager said "drive was failing" etc.) Cloned the array to another drive and scanned the supposed bad drive with WDs data lifeguard and... no errors. No bad sectors, no smart errors. Wrote all zeros and took a full format without a hitch.
Think this drive is actually failing? Any other tests I should run on it before using it again or should I just RMA it?
Thanks for the input!

IMO, i wouldn`t take a chance i would RMA it.

Probably about 90% of drives that fail don't fail from errors that SMART will detect. I'd send it back.

Gracias, yeah off it goes to WD. Wonder what they'll send me in return though as they don't make this model anymore. Upgrade!

If you're lucky, a 150GB VelociRaptor. If you're unlucky, a refurb 150GB Raptor/Raptor X.
I just picked up a 300GB VelociRaptor. I needed a new primary drive because my Raptor X has been performing poorly and no one has intel SSDs. Eventually I'll pick up an 80GB X25-M for the operating system and just install games on the VR.
