Couold be a couple things...if you dont want to reformat you need to use some type of registry cleaner make sure there is no evidence of nvidia drivers. Also do you have a decent power supply?

Hmmm the recovery disc should take care of it. I at one time had an HP w me. I upgraded a few things had no problem running the recovery disc.

Ok if you line up the heatsink and look Im betting the original pads on your cpu will not line up correctly and this is the reason for the little white disk. At least that is how it used to be w/ ...
