where are you buying it from?? looks like a retail store. Try www.newegg.com and search for the OEM version. You'll just need to buy some hardware to be able to buy the OEM, small screws are valid

Beside ad-ware to remove the spyware (if any appear) I recommend a firewall, You can try Zonelarm, don't remember if they have a free version or only a trial version

OK.. managed winamp to play on the rear speakers. About the "sounds and audio applet to speakers advanced- quadrophonic", mine were automatically selected as 5.1.
