Have you tried loading CounterStrike to run in software-rendering mode? That way, you can probably isolate the problem to see if it's your video card. I'm sure you have the latest video drivers...

Am I gonna upgrade my GF4? Heck yeah... Probably shift the NV30 into the XP2000 box, and bump the Ti4600 down into the TBird 1.2Ghz box, and then leave the 4200 lying around in case I build another...

Where does the system reboot? Is it always constant at the same point? Like, does it get reboot while loading windows? Or after POST..?

I'd get one of the ATI's instead of a 4200. Of course, if you're not in a hurry, maybe you should wait and see what NVidia's NV30 chip offers... :-P (Or, if you're a NVidia fan, like I am... :-P )

Nah, with those games you won't really see a reaally big diff... You might be able to run them at a higher resolution and still get the same performance speed... But the real performance diffs...

That setup will work. The ICS in Win2KPro is easy to setup and use, relatively reliable too. Connect-on-Demand capability is present also. Unless if you're into heavy network traffic...

If you go with the Linksys, you can get their 8port version of the router, Linksys BEFSR81 model. It's got 8 lan ports, which should be more than enough. The DHCP server built in handles up to 253...

Some of the Intel and 3Com network cards have onboard processors that unload the networking stuff from the main CPU, hence the higher cost. I've gone with Linksys so far on all my network solutions...

You say you're using NetBEUI? That's the wrong protocol for Windows... Default networking protocol is TCP/IP. If you want to cover all the bases, install the TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and NetBEUI...
