Well I just had the same problem. With the same motherboard. Well I bought a PC-133 Ram. Installed it and it was at 100mhz. So i decided to goto BIOS and found DRAM Speed and cahnged it to 133mhz....

Well it can overclock but not stable. My asus v6800 deluxe aint stable enough. I bump the clock by 10mhz, i gain marks but after 10mhz i lose marks = UNSTABLE

Hmm well. I tested a TBird 950mhz @ 1ghz and it was socket A and the temperature was 50C Idle. But I think SLOT A will have less heat because of it's large heatsink.

Well, I just got my PC 133 ram and just to tell you, when I got my PC 100 ram, it was double from today's PC 133 ram! Yes it is worth it man, order before this year while the PC 133 ram are still low!
