No the code seems right. The "no connection" image should show up whenever $fp is empty, which is represented by the else statement. The problem with this code is that the port will always be open...

I dont recognise the language, but it seems the variable type is being defined. Sometimes it is necessary to set the datatype for a variable manually, even if it (like in PHP) is set automatically....

The first query above gives the number. Nowt wrong with the database I'm afraid. They read from the same one. Still haven't worked it out.

Seems related to the query since that is the only thing that differs from one script to the other, but I can't see anything wrong here:

Your code looks fine to me, so if the first image loads, I can only think that the script isn't finding the second image... Did you upload it?

Either that or (havent seen the rest of the code) $fp...
