hey remember this thread? :D lol
thought I'd resurrect this dinosaur of a thread for the fact it might help someone. it's got some good info in it.

here's the deal with that....the pump (most of them) run on 110v AC. most people just make a small hole to run the pump cord out the back of their case. then have it plugged into a power strip...
-
hey speed freak,
The one thing I see that needs some change is the rad air flow should be sucking fresh air in. not having case air going thru your rad. and it might get a bit warmer up near...

from what everyone says, Eheim is the standard by which every other brand of pump is measured. reliability, noise, heat etc. but reliability being the most important.

i don't see any maintenance either way. it's just harder to get all the bubbles out with the "t" setup. figure the water jetting by the "t" and some of the bubbles won't make it up the t-line...
-
this pic is of a "T" line added to a system that doesn't have a res. this is used for a bleed/air gap instead of a res. the purpose of this is so the air will be trapped in the top of the T where...
-
the water line on that res pictured above would be over the top of both tubes. (see my pics) it's just that the much smaller intake tube would allow any air bubbles to not be sucked back into the...

hey guys, sorry i've been out of town for a few days.
regarding the Innovatek "Tank-O-Matic" reservoir and 1/2" tubing. I've seen it done before by using it without the retainer nuts that tighten...

pyro, you should just make a webpage or something. and build a damn w/c rig why don't you....so we can call you "hydro" instead of pyro. j/k :p
-
http://www.hwtec.de/Seite.htm here's a good page to see what's out there on the w/c market.
-
the main diff between my setup and most others, is the lines are 3/8" OD and the blocks are a low flow design which are designed for smaller diameter tubing. I personally don't like 1/2" ID tubing...
-
I chose to go with Purple Ice added to distilled water.
edit: btw Pyro, what hardware do you have in your w/c setup? you speak as if you have quite a bit of experience in this area.

ick. i've seen that at fry's. they sell the kit, think it's swiftech. it's aluminum and SUPER thin and cheezy looking in person! stay away from that one IMO.
-
the BIX is supposed to be the best "pc" rad on the market. some will say the heater cores are better but they can be huge and sometimes require 2 x 120mm fans.
-
i was able to get great cooling with a low flow setup so you don't need the hugest gph pump to have the best cooling. see my sig link for the complete list of parts. it's just an option for ya,...
