As a student I find zip drives extremely useful because not all computers on campus have cdrw drives.

If this is a legal issue I would just let either the police or the FBI's White Collar Crime division take care of it.
The evidence may not even be admissable if someone else has tampered with it.

240mb that's pretty big to be just a game trailer. The newest compression scheme's can compress way below that... must be really high quality or a really long video.
