Word. $52 a month for 4mbps line. Plus, this month Comcast was nice enough to throw in a $3 charge for renting a modem, which I own! THANKS CRAPCAST.

I had the same problem and after a couple of lengthy phone calls to convince them failed I had to fax the receipt to them. Another time they stole my modem and replaced it with an old used one and after several calls assuring me I would get a call about it. Well guess what I never got a call but they finally credited me for the modem. Another problem....

Ermm, they stole your modem? I'm a little lost Here I was thinking about moving to Comcast, but if they are gonna' be busting into my house to steal my modem, forget it.

I think mine's faster, too...the only issue with Comcast is convincing my wife that $50/month for internet access is worth.

Earlier this year Comcast went from 3Mbps to 4Mbps.
Now they have added another 2Mbps for a speed of 6Mbps.
My speed is 6334Kbps on Windows XP, but for some unknown reason I can only get 3700kbps max on Windows 2000.

Now $45 is starting to yield some justification.

Have you tried DrTCP on BOTH and view/compare the settings for each ?
    it doesn't make sense b/c I can get 5mbps using win98

Awesome, people talking about broadband speeds. There's nothing better than living on a good college campus for Internet speed. Highest I've done on a speed test here was about 23Mbps, and the reason it wasn't higher is because the test servers for the most part are slower than my connection. I've downloaded things around 5 to 6 megabytes per second before on good servers That translates to close to 50Mbps. I'll miss this when I graduate...

Mac OS X 10.4.8. Booya, Windows users.
