    Just got a canon SD630

...and its awesome. Now I just need to find a good place to buy a case, screen protectors, extra batteries etc. Also, if anybody can recommend a good high speed SD card that would be cool. It came with a 1 gig transcend card. (got the bundle from newegg)

I'm having a hard time taking clear shots inside. It's a little grainy in low light. Is there a way to fix this or a setting that helps out?

I just bought 2 generic brand batteries on ebay for $10. The canon batteries are $39.99 each. Should I be worried about these batteries destroying my new camera somehow?

With all these crazy battery heating stories it's not something I personally would do.
    You might be fine though.

    Thumbs up

I recently purchased the same camera-I actually prefer it over the 2 models above it since the screen size is so nice.

    Quiet PC.

I like it a lot so far, but I still don't understand how to take good inside shots without the photos being to fuzzy.

I got the same thing for my canon SD550.

the battery works but they don't last nearly as long as the Cannon battery that came with the camera..

but still a good backup extra batteries for only $10

use the flash (or otherwise get more light) or get a tripod. otherwise the photos are either going to be blurry from long shutter speeds, or grainy/fuzzy from high ISO speeds.

Thanks for the tip. I don't like to use a flash inside unless its really dark. I dunno why it looks unnatural or something. I'll try lowering the ISO speed and maybe that will help? or should I raise it? Anyway I'll mess around with it.

On another note newegg has kingston 2 gig SD cards for $15.99 right now.

Lowering the ISO speed will make pictures less grainy, but not as bright. You can compensate by increasing the shutter speed and/or lowering the f/stop if that camera has the capability. My old Canon Powershot A40 has it in a limited fashion, so maybe yours does too.
Lowering the f/stop makes the aperture open more, so more light is allowed in. It also increases the depth of field.

this review has a bit about shooting at in low light conditions.

Interesting I will have to fiddle around with it to see if I can adjust those settings.
