    I recently had the same problem -- it has since gone away..works just fine now.

    it happened to me like last year. the middle button was kinda unresponsive for a day then next few days I haven't use it and then it was fine again.

    now it's acting funny again...

    Did you try pressing down & rolling the wheel? Maybe it's dirty or something...I dunno. If mine acts funky again, I'll probably try to RMA it.

    I don't think it's dirt becuse I tried opening int and air blowing it and it seems pretty clean. put it back together and seems to be the same..
