Apple pulled the G4 Cube from the market in less than 2 years.
    Approximately 150,000 units were sold.
I don't call that a success compared to other Apple computers available during that time.

This thing will sell, no doubt about it. I don't think it will sell as well as the iPod or the iPhone thought. It's still the best slate type device out there, probably will be for sometime.

What kills it for me is the lack of a widescreen panel, no multitasking, no SD card slot or USB port(s). It needs to be a little more than a big ***, 4:3 iPod Touch with an optional $170 3G chip. Maybe I'll end up with the third or fourth version.

I can see a 1440x960ish model in the near future when they can get that kind of pixel density, at the right price, in a 10" display.

    $130 3G chip.

I don't think it will EVER gave a USB port or SD card. That goes against Apple's entire mobile platform. If it's USB how do they get paid for every dock sold? They make a lot of money licensing that. Adding some sort of SD port might happen in 5-6 years, if that's the popular platform for movies and books at the time. Otherwise Apple will ignore it until the very end.

They will sell 150,000 units in the first hour they are on sale. Easily.
