    Post Networking Hub

I am currently trying to network my house. I just installed all the lines to the different rooms and now need to get a hub. I was wondering what everyone recomends. I want a high quaility reliable hub. Im going to get one with 12ports and supports 100mbps. Im also gonna have a router for my dsl connected to it. Also i was wondering if i could piggy back two hubs on eachother. Ill have one hub in my room which has the dsl connected to it and the rest of the computers in the house, but i was planning on later on haveing a bunch of computers in the basement networked on a different hub. Can that hub connect to the one connected to the dsl and thus get the internet down to those other computers? Thanks for any help

Yeah, it'll work fine. get a hub with an uplink port on it... Your DSL router will probably need one or a cross over cable. Better to use the uplink port though.

Just run a strait through cable from the uplink port downstairs to any of the ports on the upstairs hub. I would get a dual speed hub. Or better yet... A dual speed switch. There really cheap, so you might as well.

Ok, well what exactly is the difference between a Hub and a Switch? Also what exactly is a dual speed hub?
