    Post Canopus Spectra 7400

    For Sale:
    Canopus Spectra 7400 GeForce 256 32mg SDRAM
The Spectra 7400 is only available in Japan but I was luck enough to have a friend over there.
This card has always posted superior 3D Mark scores compared to all the other 256 cards. If Canopus had marketed it in the US I know it would have been the top performer, just as thier Spectra 2500 TNT card was before they left the market.
Canopus does a great job with their drivers and all are available off the Japanese site. The interface is all in english as well with japanese as an option when loading the drivers.
Please make me an offer if intrested.

    Mmmmmmm... Canopus...
Yep- I had the 2500 and it rocked like no other. If I didn't already have a GeForce I'd jump at your offer.
Memories of my Spectra made me smile, so I thought I'd give your post a

    *bump*

-and if anyone out there is looking for a used GeForce, lemme tell you the Canopus is worth contacting this guy about. I wish they still sold cards here in the U.S.

    Thanks,
It's hard to find people who know about Canopus or their fine products. It must be the Japanese attention to detail that makes them so good.

That's the sad thing. They used to sell all their stuff in the US. They made a great Voodoo II card and then the TNT Spectra 2500. When the market was flooded with Voodoo cards selling cheap they got stuck with a ton of their card that would not sell. Then when they introduced the TNT they purposely ran a small number of them not wanting to get stuck again. Well, the Spectra 2500 was rated the best of all the TNT cards by just about every tech site out there and the demand went crazy. Everyone was sold out and Canopous couldn't make anymore because the time involved to do it would take to long and the newer cards (TNT-2) were right around the corner. It was at this point they bailed out of the US market. I had purchased my 2500 direct from Canopus in San Jose and it was literaly the very last one available. They were dissapointed that HQ in Japan had made the decison to not market anymore video cards in the US but that was it. Canopus USA only deals in Video Capture stuff.
Since then they have made a TNT-2, 256 GeForce SDR, 256 DDR, 256-2 GPU DDR and now they have the Spectra 8800 256-2 GPU Ultra 64mg DDR.
Maybe someday they will come back. I know a lot of people who will spend a little extra for the best. Everyone else can buy the Creative stuff.

    Just my 0.02

    Wassup SharkyExtreme Readers,

Hey, if you still have the card for sale, can you give me the lowest price possible as I am a high school student on an extremely tight budget, but would like to have healthy game performance.

just a suggestion, but the geforce 256 32mbddr is cheaper brand new and it posts higher scores on 3dmark. geforce 2gts 32mb ddr is also cheaper. Just to let you know, you might want to sell it 4 less if you want to get rid of it.
