    Angry Intel VC820 Incompatibilities

    Hello:

I've had nothing but TROUBLE with a retail boxed Intel VC820 motherboard since I bought it.

It locks up tighter than a "gnat skin stretched over a wagon wheel" every 5 minutes or less requiring a RESET to regain control.

I've stumped Intel's online tech support twice. I've exchanged the board and got back the same trouble. I even built another computer using a different RIMM, hard drive and power supply. The only thing in the PCI slots is an old Reality 332 PCI video card. There isn't even a modem and I still have the same problem!

I've reloaded Windows so many times I lose count. THE BOARD IS TOTALLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH ANY OF MICROSOFT'S OPERATING SYSTEMS EXCEPT WINDOWS 95C. It locks up with any other version like Win98, Win98SE and WinME. This leads Intel's telephone tech help to blame Microsoft. When I called Microsoft, they blamed Intel!

So what gives? Has anyone heard of this before? I'd sure appreciate some help.

    TIA,
    Davec

We had quite a few compatability issues with ours a while ago. I'd suggest asking Ben.

I suppose I could put his name in a subject line in order to attract his attention. How else could I contact him?
