    Excel help - combining rows

I have a spreadsheet that has multiple rows per person based on medical, dental, and vision coverage. I want to combine all rows for the same person into one row.

    For example:

    The existing spreadsheet looks like:

    ssn name address coverage

    111 smith 123 main medical group 1
    111 smith 123 main vision 2-party
111 smith 123 main dental PPO

I want it to look like:

ssn name address medical vision dental

111 smith 123 main medical group 1 vision 2-party dental PPO

    Any ideas?

im sure theres a way to do this in excel but since im not an excel guru my first inclination would be import the spreadsheet into a database and query the data into the desired format

I couldn't figure it out in excel, so I saved it as text and wrote a cobol program (I'm old school) to combine the lines and spit out a csv...
