99% pure isopropyl alcohol. Where the heck do I get it?
70% pure isopropyl alcohol is available everywhere.
Where can I get 99% pure isopropyl alcohol to clean my CPU before applying ArticSilver 3?

I've always used regular Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol. Whatever comes in the white plastic bottle and is clear seems to work fine for me. Also nail polish remover (acetone) works.

91% alcohol works quite well. It does a way better job than the 70% stuff. Just go to your local drug store or grocery store.
Nothing to see here. Move along.

Good Luck on that one. Only place I haven't looked is car parts store-and that would be luck. Also I think they're would be better luck finding it in a mom and pop pharmacy as to one of the chains. I ended up grabbing 90% but am still searching. I wonder about cd cleaner-take a wiff-alchohol for sure but don't know purity or if there is any petroleum based chemicals in it.

The 70% and 91% isopropyl alcohol grades will be far more common in your local drugstore, but 99% is readily available. If you feel you must have the 99%, go to the pharmacy counter at the drugstore and ask them to special order some for you. Most pharmacies get their orders the next business day from local wholesalers. A 16 ounce bottle of 99% will cost them about $2, so expect to pay $3 or $4.

use enamel paint thinner to remove the present compund then use regular alcohol to remove the residue..

You may also have trouble finding it due to the fact it is used to make hash oil. I was reading not too long ago that the 99% stuff was taken off shelves in some states.

i just asked my local pharmacist, he had a pint for around 18$ n change..
he said that dentists use it and if i wanted a smaller qty. then talk to one of them.. <but what would i use to clean another bottle enough to keep the purity>...hmmm
nah... the testors enamel thinner is a little cheaper and works very well..(then just wipe the residue w/ normal alcohol)
