    If its an ATI

The VIVO function allows you to capture video with your card. If it had a TV tuner, it would be an All-In-Wonder. I think that it only has composite and S-video in, so you can capture from a VCR or camcorder.

I guess the new Nvidia cards also have this function, though most or all include the TV tuner.

    tv-in and out

the tv-in lets you connect your tv through an s-video or av port and watch tv on the computer monitor

The tv-out lets you use your tv as your monitor

Just keep in mind the quality of a telivision display..I'd much rather watch DVDs on my 19" AG monitor than on our 20"-inch TV...I set my system to use a TV, and text is very hard to read, if you can read it at all. Very blurry.

And I rather watch a DVD on my 53" rear-projection TV than my 19" Trinitron monitor. The reason is: I see less imperfections in the DVD encoding because TVs have a lower resolution than monitors. I also like to lay down on my leather sofa where as I would have to sit in a leather chair at my desk.
