    Computer keeps restarting

My computer resets while I'm playing games, every 30 to 45 minutes. One minute I'm going Ghangus Khan in Empire Earth, the next I'm watching windows bootup. I'm not sure what could be causing this.

I resently replaced one of my crucial PC2100 X 256MB, and at the same time reinstalled windows xp. I don't know if I messed up some how. Also it is extremely hot in our house, but I'm not sure if that would cause it to reset.

    Thanks alot for any tips

    My system is
    asus a7m266
    athlon 1.4 266
    crucial pc2100 256 X 2 (512)
    60GB IBM Dekstar (spelled wrong)
    geforce 3

    Windows XP

What are your case and CPU temps? CPU temp above 55c or so? PSU going bad could cause this too.

You can right click on My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Start Up and Recovery. Uncheck the 'Automatically Restart' box under System failure.

That won't fix what's causing the problem, but should stop from restarting. But there should be a log file.

If you can run computer with side panel off. If this helps its heat. You need to check your temps in bios or with software type.
Thank you sir. May I have another?
