what version of DirectX are you running?

Do you have the latest drivers for your sound card? I have heard quite a few sob stories in regards to the Santa Cruz cards, maybe the latest driver will help.

Have you tried re-installind Diablo 2?

(it will ask you when you uninstall if you'd like to delete your savegames, so you can use them again when you reinstall)

Wicked OLD thread but neway... Ok, you have music on main title screen which means your disc is spinning and your hardware has no problem reading the data from the disc. DURING the game is different as there is specifically "no music" during gameplay which, to me, implies that sfx are working.

To turn music 'on' simply press 'Esc' during the game and click 'Options' then choose 'Sound Options'. You should now see two bars 'Sound' and 'Music' at the top of the screen... Odds are that your sound bar skull is all the way to the left. I couldn't tell you why this happens but it does and it does it automatically and it's very frustrating.

    Thumbs down

Dredging up 5 1/2 year old posts on games rarely played anymore is just WRONG.

Just logged into D2:LoD. "52,928 users online" Nowhere near 8-9 million WoW users (still can't believe ppl pay monthly to play--let alone how much--$15?! R U kidding!?! Monthly?!?!!?!?) but it's not exactly "rarely played anymore" either. Over 50,000 people---yes, people still play/use it and they do have relevant issues with it (that are worthy of being resolved) just like most any game software.

Sorry, a bit late, but yeah, I'm still having this same problem with D2. Any ideas?
