Played about half of the new maps.. so sweet That bomber is the coolest - too bad I fly like a tard.. If you run into a guy named Gatz just hide cause he will shoot you and bomb you and run you over in his plane

My main complaint is the load time.. It's horrendous when starting up for me and when switching maps.. It also picks the strangest times to pause in game to 'load' something.. usually when I'm in the middle of a fight..

Other than those small issue the game is awesume IMHO

Anyone used the Scout to target along with a big gun? I only got the opportunity once to try using a scout's camera for reference but I guess I didn't really understand quite how to do it. The instructions don't seem that clear to me on that. I'll have to look that up somewhere... to all those that don't have your copy just fly somewhere that has it and buy it

EB has it for $44.99. Go to ebworld.com and print out the voucher for $10 back and you gotz yoself a $35 game.

I really liked the demo and the retail version does improve upon it. Graphically it looks better, although load times do suck. The different vehicles rock and all these maps are wonderful. Had a lot of fun playing until 4AM this morning. Only real gripe I have is the single player. Very weak IMHO and seems more of a tool to use as practice for the MP as it is pretty much a MP game played only by you. No M1 sucks too since it is my favorite rifle, but I got over that in about 3 seconds. Otherwise, a great online game that I will playing for a while.

Omaha Beach was a military codename for a landing area during Operation Overlord which we Americans have foolishly misnamed D-Day (D-Day is a generic military term used to indicate how long until an operation begins or how long it has been started). Normandy is a region located in northern France on the English Channel. The goal of Operation Overlord was to establish a foothold on the European continent from which to organize a push against Germany. This gave the Allies a two pronged attack since their forces were already present in Italy.

    sublim21,

Nice. I went to UB. =) I dormed in Ellicott on North Campus, and then lived at the Triad Apartments on Millersport.

If I remember correctly, there's an EB at the Galleria, and I'm sure Media Play or CompUSA on Niagara Falls BLVD. might have some.

Ack, some how I managed to turn that little display above players heads off (the one that shows what team they're on). How do I enable it again?

You are correct sir! I HIGHLY recommend anyone interested i WW2 history to read "D-Day" by Stephen E. Ambrose and also his "Citizen Soldiers" book. Long reads, but very interesting and informative. "Band of Brothers" is also very good (by Ambrose as well). I haven't played the game yet, so I don't know if it's any good or not, but the one thing that already bugs me about it is that it's called "Battlefield 1942". Why did they have to attach 1942 to the title? D-Day was June 6, 1944. Ah well, it's just a title after all . Is this game only multiplayer or is there a single player aspect to it as well?
