    divx player

Can anyone recommend a decent, free divx player.

I've tried others - divxplayer, Hyplay and gdivx but seem to behaving problems with all of them - ranging from jerkiness, sound playing before they 'speak', to certain files not playing at all.

    cheers

how about wmp 6.4? that's what I use and it works flawless, I also use ATI's mulitmedia center (works great with my remote!). Pretty much any media player will play divx files as long as you have the codec installed correctly. I would suggest you try reinstalling the codec as ususally the media player has little to do with the actual quality of the divx playback.

    THE best player: http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml
you can select the aspect ratio(which is so unbeleivably useful) and it has a lot of other features that most players dont even consider. it's also fast and not bloated like wmp.

also, dont forget to snag the nimo codec pack. i would recomend ONLY installing the divX parts and divX frame fix/ac3 stuff...
i had some issues playing mpg when i installed the mpg and mpeg related stuff. other than that, it's got all you need for divX

it's not better, it just includes all the divX codecs and some other little useful things like the anti-freez frame patch, all in 1 easy to use exe setup file
