How can you download audio/video?
I have sites which have great vidoes and audio selections to listen to, but they have crappy conections so i get full audio and one frame a second.
I can't really download them, if i try to save the link (which has worked for me before on certen other things) i get this dumb file with like only 2 lines of HTML. I can't save file with the a media player, and if i try to open up the file; ie I goto http://www.site.com/inside/movie.[what ever file type] and the media viewer would just open up, instead of the browers asking me if i wanted to download the file.
Is there any way to download the file to your hardrive and then play it off of there?

the inevitable outcome
you will find in most cases that to save streaming multimedia, you need to *purchase* something like realplayer pro, or registered, or similiar. These give you the option to save streaming clips to your system. Due however note, that many sites have it set to only stream through whatever scripts there using, this cuts on dedicated bandwidth required to server a full length file for the amount of time it would take to fullly and download it dedicatedly.

A few times before when i've tried to open a page containing audio/vidio all i was able to see was the code that the media player would read, because the brower didn't start up the medi aplayer, could you just dump that into a txt file and rename it to the correct type for the media player? (I don't see why not)
Do you know of a way to open the pages and then just dump them into a txt file and rename?
heh I have similar feeling as Patssle
