Where's my bottleneck?

I've started thinking about a future upgrade since I'm starting to see some slack in game performance (Planetside, eek), but I don't quite know where my bottleneck is right now.

I have a 1.8Ghz P4 and a Geforce4 Ti4400. Plenty of RDRAM, so that's not the problem. I can't be sure if its processor or video card that is slowing me down more. Both could use an up I'm sure, but I'll only be able to upgrade one at a time. Which is in greater need?

Well, I would save up and get a new cpu,mb, and ram.

If your Motherboard only supports P4s with 400fsb I would get the P4 2.6A. If your P4 1.8 is a Willamete you will not only like the higher clock speed but also the 512k L2 cache of the 2.6 Northwood.

Your Ti4400 is still a fairly fast card and is not in as much need as your CPU for a upgrade.

I just upraded from a P4 1.5 Willy to a P4 2.4B northwood and all my games run much nicer even with the same old video card.

if you ahve a northwood oc that thing. also my ti4400 can do ti 4600 speeds no problem, urs should too 300/650
