    Angry Win98 Woes

I am a bit of a newbie so sorry if this problem has been raised before.
I have had Win98 on a few computers and have found on a couple of occasions that for some reason the computer looses all of the settings ie video sound, printer, modem etc. The system reverts back to windows default 16 colour video, can't find video, sound printer or modem drivers and I have to reload everything again.
Is this unusual and is there any way I can get back to normal working without having to reinstall everything?
I have checked for viruses and it's all clear.
    Thanks

Has this happened on more than one Machine? Thats not normal.
I would do a Thorough scanddisk and check your install software for viruses.

Usually a corrupted video driver. Re-install the video drivers and see if it cures it.

I would 100% check the video card and other drivers as well.
