    Found new hardware - windows XP problem

    For some reason this keeps on popping up, I just formatted my computer... the hardware it is finding is Unknown and it won't go away no matter what I do

    anyone know what might be causing this ? Thanks in advance

    So do you have something installed that's not getting recognized?? Listing your hardware specs would be helpful. It could be anywhere from USB 2.0 drivers being needed to memory cards.

    I don't really have all the specs, it hasn't ever done this before - from what I remember from building it, it's a

    ASUS P4S533 MOBO
    p4 1.6a
    radeon 8500 AIW with latest drivers (this is when the problem occured)

    As soon as I installed the latest drivers for the video it started happening

    oh my god this is getting very annoying, i HAVE 6 unknown things in hardware manager - uninstall, disable, none of it takes care of it

    also when I try to play a game, my computer just shuts off

    Did you install the chipset drivers?
    Did you install the ATI drivers or use the ones in Windows?

    ok i figured this out, and I dont know how... but now I have another problem in a different post
