This is not ture! What you need to do, is make a second folding folder with a copy of his name. Then bring the work folder over on a disk, and he works it. Then when it done copy the work folder and again and put it in your second folding folder, send it out, and D/L the new work unit. simple as that. pain in the butt, but it will work

I stand corrected. Actually I was thinking of a way that it could be accomplished, but all I could come up with were pains in the butt.

Thanks Vengance_01
So I would make a folder - a seperate directory say xyz folding on my desktop - allow the core to downlaod - then stop it. Then copy that to the computer with no connection meaning install the software - then just copy everthing from xyz into that folder or just the core. then when the work is done - copy it back - meaning just the core and upload. Am I following you right?
Isn't there a software client that I read about that will allow you to make mutiple core downloads and then send them back all at once? It would not be such a pain if I could do say 5 or so at a time. Making a trip next door once or twice a week to switch out.
How big are the units when they are first downloaded and how big when they are finished? I never even checked to see if he had a CD burner. May not work anyway if he does not have one. Again thanks for the input - looking to get a little more for the team - and of course boost my one cpu numbers to two.

I pmed you, but work folder file size should be quite small. I am folding a 139 point gromatic core and its work folder is 5megs. I would recomend a very cheap 16-32meg flash card.

5megs? Wow...that's quite a bit bigger than I thought they were. Oh well.
Here's another question...what version are you guys using? I'm still using the 3.25. Should I get a newer one? And what version are they on anyway?

I use 4.00. should no matter, but I think 4.00 is a bit faster.

Got a 2.6b on line yesterday long enough to load up 9 units and a 2.4c already on broadband with 10 units. May take a few days to see them start coming in because I did them in batches - but hopefully I can keep the use of them for a little while - not my systems.

Weird
This is weird. It says that I have 28 active processors within last 50 days and 20 within the last 7 days. I actually only have totaly for last 50 days is 14 and for last 7 days is 13 active processors. I don't understand what's is happening unless someone just put my username instead of there's, which is very unlikey.

If you are running P4 systems and have two console's going using Hyper Threading, each console is reported as a processor. Also, each reinstall of folding shows up as a processor best I can tell, or at least it did for me.

Well they are hyperthreading cpu's, but I don't have two instances running only one. It just went up more cpu's again.
How much more output can I get if I were to run two instances one one computer percent wise?

Wow, when the Intel processors run with SSE2 instructions it get much more ppd. Is that because of the Double gromacs core and that core only that it runs SSE2 instructions.
I will assume that the new AMD 62 will also runs double core gramacs as well then.
