Printer never completes last page print

I have the Deskjet 6122. I can tell the thing to print as much as it wants, but the moment that it hits the last page it will stop printing the last page half way. The only way to have the printer continue printing is if I tell it to print another page.
The problem is by no means driver or computer related. I installed the drivers properly on other computer (2 of them) and the problem is identical. I've also attempted uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. What has fixed the problem is using the USB port instead of the old LPT1 parallel port.
Anyone ever ran into this problem or any ideas as how to fix it?
I also tried using a different printer cable (used my roomies) and the problem still persisted.

ANY thoughts would be more than appreciated!!!

It kinda sounds like the printer's not getting the final line feed command.

    A few possibilities:

    * Try a different parallel port setting (EPP/ECP/Bidirectional, etc.)
    * Try a different parallel cable (particularly if you're using a cheap one that may not be bidirectional).
    * Try changing the spool settings in the print driver so that the printer doesn't start until the last page is spooled.

Since you've seen it on different computers, I'd start by checking the cable first.

    My guess is the cable???

Although your last page to print could be a blank page, that is no good.

    I tried a different cable.
    Also different spool settings.
The cables work fine on another printer, but the problem still persists on mine.

How do i change the parallel port settings?

    *edit*

The odd thing, that I could print 50pages or 1 page. The page that will NEVER complete is the last page. If I send the printer ANY message, such as print another page, it'll finish that last one, but still not complete the new last one.

Tell the print driver to insert a separater page between print jobs.
