a friend said copper rocket, but I couldn't find anything?? when i asked him again he said oh that was afew years ago?
My next question is there a product that is a cable modem, but has firewall functions as well?
Does anyone make a modem that will do cable, and DSL?

They are all the same. Comcast recommends Motorola, and they work fine and dandy.

I like the surfboards 4100 or 5100, much better than the rca modem comcast originally gave me (comcast gave me my 4100 also to replace that rca POS).

All built to the same exact spec. Go with price, there is no reason not to.

Cant you get in trouble for getting your own modem to use because they set the upload cap and stuff in the modem and people who get ride of the cap the ISP set get in big trouble so isnt this like the same thing?

There are programs that can uncap any modem so no you can't get in trouble for using your own. You'll just need to call your isp so they can get the mac address on the new modem so that it will be allowed on the network.

Yes you'll get in trouble for it, I'm just saying it's not the modem that determines your speed that is determined by the isp. When you use those programs you change things which increases your speeds. Best case your isp finds out and cancels your service. Worst case they press charges against you.
