    The official word 2?

    As some of you know i am doing a major overhaul of my system..and i am having trouble deciding what to put in it....do i wait for socket 939..or do i buy socket 754 now?..do i wait for Nforce 250,or do i buy Nforce 150?...and the big overall questions is..when is socket 939 and Nforce 250 appearing?..and will it be worth the wait?..cos if not i'm gonna buy the bits i want now rather than wait..any advice will be appreciated guys,thanks

    PS i read somewhere that socket 939 mobo's won't be as feature packed as socket 754..true or not?

    That's something i'm learning more and more every day, but man. You put it into words. Nice.

    I say just wait for the new chipset, as for the CPU to get... just get what fits your budget best, the new mobos won't be anything extraordinary....

    Funny thing, many would compare the 754 to the Slot A because it was 'short lived.' What they don't mention is that the Slot A ranged from 500mhz to 1000mhz.
    My point, whatever you choice, AMD will not disappoint you and they will make sure your rig comes with a long upgrade path.

    I'd wait for 939 to come out. Even of you don't get a 939 based system, chances are they will push down the price of the current 754 setups a little bit.

    And the nForce3 250 chipsets are out. Newegg has a few of the boards already. I know Chaintech has the first 2 out for right now, but they aren't the best boards for an enthusiast. Give em another week or so and some really nice 250 based boards should be out.
    Main Rig:
    Chaintech VNF3-250 | A64 3000+ @ 10 * 240 = 2.4Ghz | 512MB HyperX 3-3-3-10 | BFG 5900U 256MB -> 5950U | WD Raptor 36GB | Lite-On 811S DVD±R/RW

    Wife's Rig:
    Biostar M7NCD Pro | AXP 1700+ @ 10 * 200 = 2.0Ghz | 512MB Generic CAS2.5 | Radeon 9700 Pro | IBM 60GB | BenQ 48x12x48 Burner

    Server:
    Shuttle AN35N | Duron 700 @ 9.5 * 100 = 950 Mhz | 512MB RAM | nVidia GF4MX 420 | WD 8GB + 20GB Spanned Array | Iomega 8x4x24
