    Wired/Wireless Issue

I have a friend that only the wireless devices are connecting to the net through their wireless/four port router, and the hard wired unit, has no connection.

Any reason this would be? This was after a storm or two that came through the area but the router and modem (DSL), are both on a surge protector. But still there wireless connections are fine.

    Any assistance would be great!

Surge protectors are usually good for spikes on the 110V line; a good lighting storm would not be scared by the surge protector.

However if the Wireless work then the Modem and part of the Router are OK.

So it might be the computer or the switch part of the Router.

Try to plug the computer to another port on the Router and do reboot as described in this page.

If it does not help you need to give more info about what the wired computer yield when you run IPconfig.
