What does this mean? - "STOP: c000021a Unknown Hard Error"

I got a problem here with my laptop. I was using it today and it was lagging so I restarted it. When it was restarting, it got to the login screen and then suddenly went to a blue screen saying "STOP: c000021a Unknown Hard Error". After trying to restart the computer in safe mode with and without DOS, I still got the same message.

Then I tried starting it up again normally, and I got a "Unmountable_Boot_Volume" message. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with it? And could the files on the hard drive be saved?

Thx for your time in advance,

    Introduction to Stop Errors

"Stop errors in a nutshell are errors that are serious enough to cause Windows to stop. They are similar to the blue screen errors that were present on Windows 9x, however there is no option to try and resume the session in a Windows NT Stop Error (Windows 2000 and all XP members included)."
