    X800XT PE pricing.

    Did anyone else notice that there's a few places selling *new* AGP X800XT PEs for ~$250?

    At first I thought the ATI deal was extraordinary, but it looks like ATI is dropping serious prices on the backend.

    I'm thinking of ditching the ATI preorder and going with one of the other sites. I'll spend an extra $40 or so after tax though, but it'll be a new card. I'm not in a rush though, so I haven't quite decided.

    Pretty crazy price drops though.

    There is the theory of the moebius. A twist in the fabric of space where time becomes a loop.

    It's a very smart move by ATI.

    Seeing as they have no real counter to Nvidia's 7800 series in sight, dropping prices on their current line-up would seem to be the prudent thing to do, especially with the higher end cards (such as the x800XT PE).

    Not a bad thought. As you said, I wonder if by the time the ATI order becomes available, the price for a NEW PE will be close if not the same (or lower..??!!)

    Still have some time to decide, I guess.........

    Thanks for the heads up. I canceled my order with ATI and went with another X800XT PE for $249 shipped about ~$30 more. I've waited too long for the ATI deal already, the new card should be coming in friday. I'm in process of building a new pc for myself so my wife can get this computer.

    X800XTs are $220 and X850XTs are $230. That's nuts. With free 2nd day shipping from zzf.

    Too bad they're all on back-order. I'm definitely looking forward to this. I was about to drop $380 for a 7800GT. Granted it's a good deal, but why spend that much for high-end when you can still damn a different high-end for $230.

    Damn, if only they didn't charge like $100USD for shipping to Canada... Guess I'll stick it out for now.

    You should get a P.O.Box in U.S. Might be cheaper to drive across the border just to get your stuff.

    Yeah, the only other problem would be, do they accept Canadian credit cards for ordering to the US?

    EDIT: They also don't ship to P.O. boxes...

    Yeah, kinda like how the more than $4 BILLION in tarrifs on our softwood lumber was recently ruled illegal. Of course the States still don't care and are still imposing that tarrif... NAFTA my ***.

    I'd write more but I'm digressing.

    Also, I've written some stuff on my blog, but I'm kinda leery about writing too much. Don't wanna get tagged by those CIA folks for anit-american sentimisn.

    So, uh... Yeah, I was reading the Anandtech video card price guides today and it seems like ATI's trying to clear out their older stock. Preparing for something new maybe? Mighty juicy for <$250 I must say.

    Did you happen to see Achmed's (ooops - that's not the Shark's name - apologies shark - for munging your name) link in another thread referring to the MSI PCIe 256MB x800xt VIVO version ? pretty darn cheap too , over at zzf too perhaps (?). Check the specs - and notice that it only does AA up to 6x (???).. -- oh and Dual DVI out - but I guess it's not the PE version either

    not that I could use a PCIe card - and AGP still suits me - but I'm curious about the spec diffs

    ...let me see if I can find the link

    Man - this site's search function reallly blows

    *edit;
    ...HAH!
    I had the link saved in my 2 day history location bar
    http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=321942
    $299 -- and OUT of STOCK
    but here's the Manu detailed specs;
