Much much cheaper than the Apple Cinema (it was discounted on top of the original price)

I just realized... if I buy this, it won't fit on my desk.
Thank god. I can keep my money now

LOL, you're not helping me none..... I might just go for a 37" LCD TV/monitor that does 1366x768 ( I figure that with an R600/G80, doin' that res with eye candy should do the trick for me).....gonna cost about the same as the 3007 in my neck of the wood. As I've said, I've still some time so I'm gonna be thinkin' 'bout it.

mikeysg: The 3007WFP is GREAT if you need the desktop work space. I found myself kind of limited when I was doing some AV editing on my old 17".. bumped up to 24" and still didn't have enough space to be comfortable. This 30" should do well.

klakalou: Yeah CSS is fun to play again, and my framerates only drop if I'm playing a crazy map (the new cs_militia comes to mind). I can probably drop the AA and get frame rates consistently above 60. $1599+tax = $1838.85 CAD.

Terry: Bahahahaha. You'd be able to fit it.. only it'd be offset from your keyboard/mouse.

Congrats Zoob! That is HUGE. I just received my 2405 and it's awesome. I can't imagine gigantic that 30 incher must be.

Do you have any side by side dual head shots? (if you have the deskspace)

Thanks. The 30" is almost too big to handle.
I will get some shots side by side (by side if time permitting, and if Terry allows it).

First task is to put my computer back into my case.

Congrats on your 2405FPW purchase Soup! You're gonna love it (Unless you play FPS games a lot )

Try playing on a CRT (or 3007) after 2405.
If you are hardcore, maybe you'll see a difference.

(apparently, there is input lag on the 2405. As evident on the picture I took with the corners of the monitors, you can see the 3007 is ahead. Yes, I only got a corners because zoob's room is so friggin messy and the monitors are so friggin huge.)

I noticed this very slight lag/blur as well on my 2405 when making very quick mouse movements in CS Condition Zero. My laptop also has this slight lag/blur which perhaps could be considered "ghosting"?

It doesn't really bother me though but I can see how some people may find it distracting.

@ Gar: I immediately noticed something 'not right' when I switched from my 17" SyncMaster to the 24" Dell. It felt 'laggy'. Reports on [H]ardForums and various threads about the 2405 confirmed what I had been feeling.

@ Terry: LMAO. I didn't know I was 'hardcore' I'll clean it up soon and we can take proper side by side views with the 24"

@ soupnazi: On my laptop I don't notice any kind of input lag. Ton of ghosting though

Trying to ditch my 24" now. Seems to be many people interested, but everyone balks at the price. Everyone wants a deal and a half

Actually, for any given frame, 1080i is actually only 1920x540.

Also, all DVDs are 720x480 AFAIK.

Is it true this monitor can rotate so it's in portrait mode? If so could you possibly post some pictures of this as well?

I do a lot of software engineering work, and having my 17" secondary monitor in portrait is handy for reading long code listings.
