Anyone have experience with Canon service?

I have a canon sd300 that i have had to repair twice. The first time it was under warranty. The second time it was just out of warranty but i called and pestered them and they agreed to to a one time courtesy repair for no charge. Within 3 weeks ive got the same problem again and they say that the i have to pay 100$ to repair it. Im wondering if its worth trying to repair this as its lasted 2 months after first repair and 3 weeks after the second repair or whether calling them and whining is going to get me results. If anyone has had a similar experience, Id appreciate the advice. Thanks.

usually when they replace something they warranty that part for 90 days or what not.

    what part is it anyway?

I have only had my 20d and several lenses for about half a year, but i know quite a few people who send in their equipment bianually and everything goes good for them.

I have absolutely no idea what is wrong...it wont turn on. It isnt warrantied for 90 days cos the second time i sent it in for repair, i was pretty sure it was still under the 90day warranty but, apparently they looked at it only after the 90 day period and hence wanted to charge me 97$. I had to call and pester them till they agreed to do a one time courtesy repair which apparently doesnt have the usual 90 day warranty. Now barely 2 weeks and ive proabably used the camera just once after i got it, its got the same problem.
It isnt covered and i cant see how anyone would spend 97 on a 299 dollar camera especially 2 repairs have turned out to be useless.

I would try to call and complain. I think if you explain the track record of your camera they will either repair for free or maybe replace it.

Sorry you havent had much luck

Agreed. Sounds like you may have a lemon. I'd complain.
