    Disk Management with “RPC server is unavailable” Error

    hi im trying to create new drives. i use this path to make new drives my computer->manage->disk management but when i deleted the previous drive to create a new one i recieved this error ("RPC server is unavailable") ill really appreciate it if someone could help me with it. my laptop is asus n55s and im using windows 7.

    just before this i installed a avira on my laptop and now im having this problem.

    removal of avira would be a good place to start....

    I have been using M$ security essentials for awhile now, works rather well and it is free, might want to give it a try when things get sorted out...

    i have had problems with the event viewer (kinda like located on same entry page) in the past, only a complete new OS install solved the problem, I tried weeks of rollbacks, SFC /scannow, registry repairs and numerous other web suggestions, only a complete redo got it back,
